Reviews: Black metal with keyboard-support and quite an underground feel – which might be caused by the fairly raw production; nothing rehearsal though. The parts where the songs are not interrupted by intermezzo’s and instrumental passages, Asthatica is enjoyed best. The instrumentals might remind of older Enslaved stuff (a bit less technical though), but the feeling of the demo is not Viking at all. The songs are well-written and have both straight-forward and melodic parts, and host a few nice riffs to enjoy. Because of the keyboards and the melodic approach, it might not be everybody’s kind of black metal, so beware. The re-release I have reviewed hosts the Carpathian Forest cover Pierced Genitalia, which is done in a satisfactory way, gladly leaving alone the keyboards.
